Topic — Your network is inaccessible.

LAN Bridger automatically verifies that your network is accessible from the Internet. We have determined that your network is currently inaccessible to others.

Note for users upgrading from 0.9.8b and earlier

Prior to 0.9.9b, LAN Bridger did not use UPnP or NAT-PMP and required network hosts to manually forward a specified port. As of 0.9.9b, LAN Bridger defaults to using UPnP or NAT-PMP and randomizes the port. We do not preserve your old settings. Continue reading for information on what to do if your router does not support UPnP or NAT-PMP.

Details

LAN Bridger requires your computer be directly accessible via the internet in order to host a network. Currently, it makes use of UPnP and NAT-PMP to attempt to automatically configure your router to make your network accessible.

Since you are seeing this error, it is likely your router does not support UPnP or NAT-PMP. You will need to manually forward the appropriate port in order to make your network accessible.

By default, when you disable UPnP and NAT-PMP in the preferences, LAN Bridger uses port 40001. You can specify an alternative port or leave the default in place. Once you have decided on the port you would like LAN Bridger to use, you will need to use your router's configuration page to forward that port to your computer.

Setting a custom port and disabling UPnP and NAT-PMP

For help forwarding ports, consult your router's documentation, or drop by the LAN Bridger forums and ask for advice from our community. Chances are someone else happens to use the same or a similar router, and can help you configure yours.
